It is Veterans Day. I won't ramble on about something that can become political, this isn't the time or the space. I will say three things.
One, to the men and women currently serving in our military: Thank you.
Two, to the men and women who have served in our military in the past: Thank you.
Three, the sacrifices you have made and are making are significant, and truly, my thanks doesn't seem like enough. I have one other thing I can offer.
My prayers. Will you join me in that?
Will you say a prayer for my friend Chris, as he is currently serving in Afghanistan? His wife is due to give birth to their second child in the next few weeks and the most he can hope for is to be there via webcam.
Will you say a prayer for others currently serving our country, both here and abroad?
Will you say a prayer for those who have been wounded in combat and are in hospitals across the country and the world recovering?
Will you say a prayer for those who have served and live with emotional scars from some of their experiences?
Will you say a prayer for the families of those men and women we've lost?
It's the least we can do.
And please, if you know someone, past or present military, put them in the comments so we can lift them up too.
